CAF champions league champions Al Ahly and South African side Kaizer Chiefs have one foot into this year’s final after taking the advantage of their semi-final first-leg games played on Saturday.

Mohamed Sherif’s second half goal earned Pitso Mosimane’s coached side all the three points at Stade Olympique de Rades in the Tunisian city of Rades.

Despite the Red Devils being dominant in this fixture, Esperance had defeated the former in their most recent meeting in 2018 final.

The record champions and four-time winners will meet again at Al Salam Stadium in Egypt for the second leg on Saturday, June 26.

Kaizer Chiefs who are having their maiden appearance in the semifinals scored through Samir Nurkovic in the 34th minute as they carry the advantage from the first-leg played at the Stade Mohamed V on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys will be looking forward to reaching their maiden continental final when the two teams face off again in the second leg at the FNB Stadium in South Africa on Saturday.

Winners in both fixtures on aggregate after two legs will square off in the final at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco on 17 July 2021.

Should the Amokhosi earn a place in this year’s final, they could take on former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Mosimane’s Al Ahly.
